Aganorsa Signature 552 Robusto
Although many cigar smokers remain unfamiliar with Aganorsa Leaf, most will be familiar with the award-winning cigars produced by the family behind the name (e.g. Illusione, Warped Cigars, and Foundation Cigar Co., among others). This is all set to change, as the company—known for their eponymously titled tobacco growing operation—has begun revamping their entire portfolio for the modern era.
The first sign of change was with the Guardian of the Farm cigar—a collaboration with Warped Cigars that went on to rank as Cigar Aficionado's #8 Cigar of the Year for 2017. New for 2018, Aganorsa Leaf is now showcasing some of the company's finest tobaccos in a stunning blend known as Aganorsa Leaf Signature Selection.
Blended by Max Fernández, son of company founder Eduardo Fernández, the Signature Selection showcases a Nicaraguan puro blend, focusing on tobaccos from the Jalapa and Estelí regions. Throughout the blend, authentic Corojo ’99 and Criollo ’98 Cuban seed varietals have been used. This is finished with a Jalapan Rosado Claro Corojo '99 wrapper. Finally, the cigar's filler recipe has been boosted through the inclusion of medio tiempo tobacco, a rare leaf that grows on roughly 10% of tobacco plants, known for its intense strength and flavor output.
Aganorsa Leaf Signature Selection is rolled in small batches at the renowned TABSA factory in Estelí, with only 500 boxes per size being introduced each year.
