Aladino Maduro marks the first blend extension to JRE Tobacco Company's wildly popular Aladino collection (since joined by a wide variety in the years following). The cigar arrived roughly two years after the original Aladino cigar, making use of familiar Honduran tobaccos throughout the core blend, but swapping the Corojo wrapper of the original for a darker Mexican San Andrés maduro variant.
The Aladino Maduro cigar follows a familiar strategy from the Eiroa family, who control every aspect of the cigarmaking process, from seed to humidor. This begins on family patriarch, Julio R. Eiroa's, tobacco farms throughout Honduras, where he has specialized in authentic Cuban-seed Corojo tobacco for decades. For the Aladino Maduro, this Honduran Corojo is used in the binder component, being joined by undisclosed seed varietals from Eiroa's Honduran fields in the filler. Now finalized in a hearty San Andrés maduro wrapper, Aladino Maduro lights up with a balanced, flavor-forward delivery to the palate. The cigar has a classic aura to it, though exhibiting much more depth in the flavor department, including standout notes of baker's cocoa, toasted oak, black pepper, mineral-rich earth, and sweet molasses.
