After visiting the famed Bellas Artes National Museum in Cuba, A.J. Fernández was inspired to create a smoking experience as beautiful and timeless as the works of art on display. This was evidenced by the cigar's title—Bellas Artes—which translates to mean Fine Art, an appropriate name for a masterful cigar smoking experience.
Bellas Artes was an instant hit with critics and consumers alike upon its debut in 2016, so much so that a proper maduro followup arrived only two years later. With the AJF Bellas Artes Maduro, Master Blender A.J. Fernández set out to capture the same level of depth and finesse that smokers first fell in love with in the original Bellas Artes cigar, altering the overall character for a darker, grittier performance. This was accomplished through the selection of a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper, Mexican San Andrés maduro binder, and all-Nicaraguan fillers grown on A.J.'s own farms throughout Nicaragua.
The end result is a hearty smoking experience with a refined foundation. The cigar is medium-plus in body, opening up with gritty yet sweet characteristics of vegetal earth, raw peppercorn, pumpernickel bread, baker's cocoa, bitter-sweet espresso, and a touch of vanilla through the finish.

What a treat. A spicy chocolate treat. Another banger from AJ with the maduro version of the BA. Full flavor and full strength pick up a 5 pack at least!

This is a solid cigar but I prefer the natural more. This had that classic maduro sweetness but a little too much bite.

This stick is like many other AJ sticks but with a different band. It is a good cigar still and if you like the Jacob’s Ladder or New World Maduro or Last Call Maduro, you will enjoy this one.

One of the first maduros I ever tried. It continues to be one of my "go to" cigars. Perfect blend of strength (there's not very much), body and sweetness. It's like smoking a chocolate bar. Great stick for beginners and experienced smokers, alike. Leave it to AJ to come up with a perfect blend.
