To fully appreciate Crowned Heads' Le Pâtissier cigar, you need to wind back the clock to 2016, when the brand introduced a special Broadleaf-wrapped blend known as Le Carême. This cigar was named after celebrity chef Marie-Antoine Carême, as the cigar's profile was said to resemble Carême's popularization of the chocolate soufflé.
Fast forward to 2021, where Crowned Heads showcased Le Pâtissier as the first sequel to Le Carême. This cigar followed along with the cuisine theme, with the name translating from French to mean Pastry Chef. The cigar was somewhat of a test run for Crowned Heads, being a limited edition sold exclusively through retailers that attended the 2021 PCA trade show.
Not surprisingly, the Crowned Heads Le Pâtissier cigar proved a hit with cigar enthusiasts, and has now been brought back as a full-time offering. In terms of tobacco, the cigar pays tribute to its roots with a Grade-A Dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper; however, the remainder of the blend sets the cigar apart from any other CH release, using a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder and fillers of Costa Rica and Nicaragua’s Pueblo Nueva and Ometepe regions. This makes for a dark and brooding experience, showing a medium-full body and irresistible flavors of earth, charred oak, bittersweet cocoa, and zesty pepper.

Costa Rican Tobacco is one of the most unique flavors. Its a tobacco that my opinion can easily be picked out from all others easily, and most times for the wrong reason. The team at Ace Prime nailed the blend using costa rican tobacco for this cigar. It has this discreet floral note that blends in just right with the nicarguan tobacco

This one was a miss for me. The CT Broadleaf is great but I think CH does a better job with that wrapper on the La Careme. Worth a try however.
