In 2023, Davidoff Cigars began rolling out previously retired sizes within the brand's famed White Label collection, being offered in limited quantities. This included the Signature No. 1, Aniversario No. 1, and Millennium Lancero, leaving fans champing at the bit as to the eventual fourth release: the Davidoff Grand Cru.

At long last, the wait is over, as the cigar has been revealed as the Davidoff Grand Cru Diademas Finas Limited Edition Collection, showcasing a variation of the famed Grand Cru blend in Davidoff's beloved Diademas Finas format. The Grand Cru dates back to 1946, being envisioned by cigar visionary Zino Davidoff himself. An aficionado of both wine and cigars, Zino sought to draw parallel between the two, highlighting the similarities in vintages and terroir.

With the Davidoff Grand Cru Diademas Finas Limited Edition Collection, Davidoff has elevated the concept, featuring Dominican San Vicente tobacco that was aged in spent casks that previously held premier grand cru classé red wine from Bordeaux, France. These leaves were rotated within the barrels every two weeks, spending a total of six months within the oak casks before making their way into the final cigars. Joined by all-Dominican binder/fillers and topped with an Ecuadorian wrapper, the blend was then expertly rolled in the famed 6¾" x 50 diadema size that is dubbed Diademas Finas. This makes for a medium body and a highly complex flavor profile, hitting long-lasting characteristics of oak, aromatic florals, sourdough, and plenty of dried fruits through the finish.
