The cigar was first released in 2023, taking elements from the company's fan-favorite Pledge and Allegiance lines to form a new patriotic-themed experience. Like the debut release, the 2024 edition was rolled in a single 6" x 54 box-pressed toro format, making use of a complex recipe that includes a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, an Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, and fillers from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Broadleaf from Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
This makes for a hearty smoke with a full and voluminous texture, lighting up with complexities of charred oak and earth, later evolving to include semi-dark chocolate, molasses, and stone fruit through the finish. The E.P. Carrillo Pledge of Allegiance Limited Edition 2024 cigar has been limited to only 1,776 boxes (nice touch), making for a great collector's piece, a nice gift choice, or simply a tasty smoke for the cigar enthusiast.
