Master Blender Ernesto Perez-Carrillo is treating cigar hobbyists to an EPC-style blast from the past in 2021, bringing back the fan-favorite Short Run brand in all its retro glory!
The EPC Short Run was one of Carrillo's first projects upon opening his own Dominican factory and debuting the EPC brand in 2010. This concept involved the use of rare tobaccos, created in small batches due to limited inventory. The cigars proved popular, with new variants of the project debuting on an annual basis through 2016 (seven cigars total).
With the EPC Short Run Retro 2021 cigar, Carrillo has unlocked the vault once more, crafting a limited smoking experience for 2021. The blend is perhaps most similar to the 2011 release, showcasing an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and fillers of Nicaragua and the DR. This translates to a medium-plus intensity and zesty flavors of oak, cabinet spices, cinnamon-doused nuts, and toasted caramel. As an added treat for the nostalgic cigar enthusiast, EPC Short Run Retro 2021 arrives with E.P. Carrillo's original bands—it's hard to deny the excitement behind this limited gem!
