Since 2018, Espinosa Premium Cigars has showcased new smoking experiences under the six-part Las 6 Provincias (aka The 6 Provinces) series on a near-annual basis. This collection pays tribute to the Espinosa family's Cuban roots (specifically, Cuba prior to communist control), with each of the six cigars being themed around the country's original six provinces: Pinar del Río, Havana, Matanzas, Santa Clara, Camagüey, and Oriente.
The 2022 addition to the collection is the Espinosa Las 6 Provincias CMW cigar, directed towards the Camagüey province. As with former releases in the series, the cigars were spearheaded by Erik Espinosa Jr., who worked with local artist Eden Gutierrez to showcase an authentic Cuban vista for the cigar's display. Las 6 Provincias CMW is crafted out of A.J. Fernández's northernmost San Lotano factory of Ocotal, Nicaragua, making use of a dark Ecuadorian Habano 2000 wrapper over all-Nicaraguan binder/fillers. Like former releases, the cigars were crafted in a singular size (6" x 50 box-pressed toro), being limited to 1,000 boxes of 20 cigars. The end result is among Espinosa's most complex smoking experiences, offering a medium-full intensity and rich complexities of toasted oak, mineral-heavy soil, black pepper, and spiced cola syrup.
