The Espinosa Murcielago Shikaka is a special addition to Espinosa’s popular Murcielago line, created exclusively for the Tobacconists' Association of America (TAA). Known for its bat-themed branding, the Murcielago line originally featured dark maduro wrappers, invoking "Dark Knight" imagery. However, Espinosa began exploring lighter versions with the release of the Murcielago de Oro in 2023. The Shikaka takes this concept even further, using the lightest wrapper ever featured in the Murcielago lineup, making it an intriguing departure from the brand’s dark origins.
The Shikaka introduces a completely new blend for the Murcielago series, cleverly being named for the "great white bat" storyline of 1995's Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper, giving it a lighter hue and a more nuanced profile compared to previous releases. Underneath, the blend includes a Nicaraguan binder and filler, delivering the richness and depth that Espinosa fans expect. The cigar comes in a 6" x 54 oval-pressed toro format, similar to its predecessor, and is produced at the San Lotano Factory in Nicaragua, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
