Gurkha Nicaraguan Coleccion Especial TAA 2023

In 2022, Gurkha Cigars launched the Colección Especial as an exclusive to retailers that were members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) before opening up the line as a regular-production release. One year later, the company has expanded on the concept, now centering on the fiery tendencies of Nicaraguan leaf with the appropriately titled Gurkha Nicaraguan Colección Especial cigar.

Like its sibling, the Gurkha Nicaraguan Colección Especial TAA Exclusive 2023 is being sold through TAA-authorized retailers (a collection of roughly 80 tobacconists that are held to high standards in terms of tobacco knowledge and customer service). Using strictly Nicaraguan tobaccos throughout the recipe, Gurkha crafted only 1,500 boxes of 10 cigars, being rolled in an attractive 6⅛" x 54 piramide size.

As Gurkha is no stranger to elaborate packaging/presentation, the Gurkha Nicaraguan Colección Especial TAA Exclusive 2023 arrives in clear acrylic cases, complete with Coke-bottle-green rounded sides—undoubtedly a showstopper in the humidor. With a dramatically tapered head, the medium-to-full-bodied blend is concentrated in flavor, hitting the palate with notes of earth, black pepper, molasses bread, and spicy Mexican chocolate.
