H. Upmann 180th Anniversary

Five years after debuting one of the most beloved H. Upmann cigars of the modern era (H. Upmann 175th Anniversary), the non-Cuban version of the H. Upmann brand returns with a familiar template for the 180th anniversary milestone.

Unsurprisingly, the cigar is dubbed H. Upmann 180th Anniversary, and it boasts a number of familiar stats that made the 175th one of the most sought-after limited editions of 2019. This includes a partnership with acclaimed cigarmaker A.J. Fernández, a 7" x 50 Churchill size, and an all-Nicaraguan recipe that includes the signature ingredient of medio tiempo tobacco as the wrapper component.

Medio tiempo is a relatively new tobacco priming classification, where certain plants will produce an offshoot leaf higher on the plant than the conventional ligero section. This makes for a stronger leaf, being the thickest and oiliest leaf on the plant. Despite H. Upmann declaring the cigar as using a different blend compared to the 175th, cigar fanatics have been eagerly anticipating the chance to acquire an experience "in the ballpark" of the famed 2019 release. The H. Upmann 180th Anniversary cigar pushes "full" territory in terms of flavor, being backed by a medium-plus body, with standout complexities of leather, cocoa, bright coffee, caramel, and cream through the finish.

With only 5,000 boxes of 10 cigars in existence, the H. Upmann 180th Anniversary is sure to become among the most sought-after cigar releases of 2024.
