There are dessert smokes, and then there are breakfast smokes...
When referring to the latter, this typically has to do with a cigar you'd smoke early in the morning (i.e. with your breakfast). But, in the case of the HVC Hot Cake, this cigar is your breakfast!
Curiously enough, the Hot Cake cigar by HVC is not the first pancake-themed smoke from HVC Cigars, as it follows the company's earlier Pan Caliente cigar blend. Clearly, company owner, Reinier Lorenzo, enjoys himself a sweet, baked breakfast!
With the HVC Hot Cake, this theme is derived from a special Corojo 2006 maduro selection of Nicaraguan tobacco, providing an irresistible, lip-smacking sweetness the likes of maple syrup. This leaf is joined by Estelí-grown Criollo '98 in the filler, a Jalapa Corojo '99 binder, and a dark Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper. The cigars are rolled at the boutique-minded TABSA factory in Nicaragua, showcasing expert craftsmanship, a medium-plus intensity, and delectable flavors of molasses bread, maple, black pepper, and sweet stone fruit through the finish.
