When picturing a classic Habano, you're likely thinking of a wrapper grown in Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Honduras, or the Dominican Republic. This is for good reason, as these regions each bring their unique influence to one of the world's most beloved seeds. But with the Kristoff Habano, debuting in 2016, company owner, Glen Case, decided to bring something unique to cigar enthusiasts, utilizing a Habano leaf from the lesser-used region of Brazil.
Indeed, the Kristoff Habano is chock-full with Brazilian leaf, including a Brazilian Habano wrapper and Brazilian Sumatra binder. These cover leaves surround fillers of Nicaraguan and Dominican Habano tobaccos. This is a zesty combination, offering a classic experience with a twist. Rolled at the boutique-minded Charles Fairmorn Factory in the DR, the Kristoff Habano cigar is dependable in construction and flavor, showing medium-to-full-bodied characteristics of earth, punchy pepper, toasted oak, and touches of sweet caramel.
