The Luciano Maria Lucia cigar pays homage to Luciano's mother—Maria Lucia—who passed away when he was only 12 years old. Battling with the grief throughout his life, it was only now that he was able to understand her complicated life's story and craft a special experience in her memory. Not only this, but the cigar takes on somewhat of an otherworldly inspiration, as the box/band design was taken from a sketch made by Luciano's daughter. According to Meirelles, she sketched the portrait after having dreamt of a woman she did not know. When Luciano saw the drawing, it was unmistakable for his mother, and is now featured on the Maria Lucia cigar.
