Dating back more than a decade, Oliva has showcased a new iteration of the Oliva Edición Año series, which often features unique size variations of the company's Serie V and Serie V Melanio blends. With the limited 2023 release, Oliva sets their sights on a grander scale, crafting a much larger batch of cigars to be sold in the US and internationally (differing from the series' conventional non-US releases over the years).

Adding to the intrigue, the Oliva Serie V Melanio Edición Año 2023 has been rolled in a unique size that Oliva dubs Figuriño, which is a double-tapered perfecto that is sized at 5½" x 54. This size dates back to 2021, where Oliva partnered with French humidor maker Elie Bleu to release 21 humidors containing 21 Figuriño cigars, priced at... $21,000!

Thankfully, with the 2023 release, the cigars are shipped in more traditional packaging, bringing the cost down by a humble $20,800 (whew!). Oliva Serie V Melanio Edición Año 2023 cigars feature the award-winning recipe of the original Melanio cigar, including a red-hued Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and all-Nicaraguan binder/fillers. With the Figuriño format, enthusiasts can expect a medium-plus intensity, with a concentrated smoke offering flavors of toasted oak, cabinet spices, warm umami, sun-dried tomato, and caramel corn through the finish.
