Five years after launching the Lawmen Series with the Sir Robert Peel line, Protocol Cigars has extended the series to four lines (and eight blends), introducing the Protocol Phoebe Couzins.
Each cigar in the Lawmen Series honors some of the most notable men (and now women) and their contributions to the law and order of Western culture. Phoebe Couzins is no different, with Protocol tipping the cap to the first woman in United States history to graduate from a law school, as well as the first female US Marshal in the country.
Following previous releases in the series, the cigars have been rolled in two versions: Phoebe Couzins Natural and Phoebe Couzins Maduro. Each cigar soft-pressed and sized at 6″ x 52, with the Natural making use of an Ecuadorian Sumatra rosado wrapper, while the Maduro is topped with Nicaraguan Habano oscuro. Both blends use similar all-Nicaraguan binder/fillers from Nicaragua's primary growing regions, differing slightly in terms of priming and proportions throughout the filler. This makes for a medium-plus experience with the Phoebe Couzins Natural, hitting notes of toasted nuts, cabinet spice, and brown sugar. Meanwhile, the Phoebe Couzins Maduro veers closer to medium-plus-plus, with characteristics of earth, black pepper, and mocha sweetness.
