Rocky Patel A.L.R. Second Edition is, like the name implies, the highly anticipated followup to Rocky's 2018 original release of A.L.R. The acronym represents "Aged, Limited, Rare," which is exactly what smokers will be treated to with this specially selected, limited-edition blend.

As with the first release, A.L.R. Second Edition was chosen by Rocky Patel years before the cigar's 2019 release, as the blend was believed to be an ideal candidate for aging. Breaking it down from the beginning, tobaccos were first aged in Rocky's boutique TAVICUSA factory in Nicaragua; the tobaccos were then rolled into three sizes and left to mature for an additional two years, brining about a newfound level of complexity. In other words, this special project is indeed aged, limited, and rare!

A.L.R. Second Edition consists of all-Nicaraguan binder/filler tobaccos harvested from RP's own farms throughout Estelí and Condega. This core recipe is then finalized in a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. The full process may be a lot to take in, but the final smoking experience speaks for itself, delivering one of the most intricate and thoroughly enjoyable performances in Rocky's acclaimed portfolio. This includes calculated flavors of graham cracker, sweet malt, fresh gardening soil, oak, and raw vanilla bean.

Rocky Patel A.L.R. Second Edition was awarded Cigar Aficionado's No. 5 Cigar of the Year for 2019.
