At first glance, you might be under the impression that Matt Booth partnered with Frito-Lay for a spicy new take on the Sancho Panza brand... Alas, (and we're admittedly a bit saddened here), this is not the case with the Sancho Panza Extra Chido.
However, if it's any consolation, the Extra Chido is, in fact, pronounced the same as the beloved Cheetos snacks of your youth. The name follows the Chicano vibe of the modern-day Sancho Panza brand, which was overhauled by Matt Booth (of Room101 fame) in 2022, being a slang term for super cool.
The Sancho Panza Extra Chido cigar now joins the core lineup of Sancho Panza cigars, making use of an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The latter ingredient is Piloto-seed tobacco that was tercio aged; this is an old-school technique, where the tobacco leaves are bound in royal palm leaves during the aging process. The Extra Chido cigars are rolled out of the General Cigar Dominicana factory in the DR, offering a medium-bodied profile with lively characteristics of cedar, nutmeg, lightly spicy red pepper flakes, and touches of cinnamon sweetness.
Sadly, there are no notes of Cheetos cheddar or Flamin' Hot spice...
