Tatuaje 20th Anniversary

Often credited as one of the pioneers to usher in the boutique side of the premium cigar world that hardcore enthusiasts now know and love, Tatuaje Cigars celebrated the company's milestone 20th anniversary in 2023. The company was founded by Pete Johnson in 2003, partnering with José “Pepín” García and his then-small factory operation in Miami for production. The duo have since risen in unison, climbing each rung of the cigar industry ladder, and are now among the most respected names throughout the world of premium cigars.

Similar to the company's 10th anniversary, Tatuaje marked the two-decade celebration with a pair of custom-banded cigars, this time going by the names Tatuaje 20th Grande Merveille and Tatuaje 20th Grand Chaseur. It's a familiar recipe for those familiar with the 10th Anniversary cigars, where the new sizes fit into the company's original Seleccion de Cazador (aka Tatuaje Brown Label) as full-time additions to the line. This means that the cigars feature Pete Johnson's winning recipe of all-Nicaragua binder/fillers, being finished with an oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper.

Each cigar features a new black band reminiscent of the 10th Anniversary, swapping the "10" identifier with "20." The cigars arrive with an unfinished foot, where the wrapper leaf extends to close over the foot, allowing for an extra taste of Habano leaf during the toasting/lighting process. The Tatuaje 20th Anniversary cigars weigh in at 6⅛" x 46 (Grande Merveille) and 6⅜" x 54 (Grand Chasseur), offering a medium-full intensity and signature flavors of mineral-rich earth, cocoa, black pepper, leather, and a clean sweetness through the finish.
