A spinoff of a spinoff: if you're talking TV programming, this isn't typically a recipe for success... Thankfully, the reverse is often true in the world of premium cigars, such as with Pete Johnson's latest spin on the Havana VI series with Tatuaje Havana VI Verocú Blue.
The Tatuaje Havana VI (aka "Tatuaje Red Label") line dates back to 2006, where Pete Johnson sought to provide a slightly more mild accompaniment to the brand's beloved Brown Label cigar, moving production from Miami to Nicaragua to allow for wider availability at more attractive price points. The line proved popular with cigar enthusiasts, and the sub-labeled Tatuaje Havana VI Verocú was added one year later, bringing about a stronger profile for the demanding palate.
Finally, the Tatuaje Havana VI Verocú Blue cigar maintains the spirit of its predecessors, now boasting a 100% García puro recipe, with all tobaccos grown on the Garcías' own farms throughout Nicaragua. This was spurred by a new tobacco ingredient—Corojo '99 rosado—which the Garcías have slowly begun rolling out over the past couple years. This fine-tuned leaf is used as the wrapper on the Tatuaje Havana VI Verocú Blue, being joined by an all-Nicaraguan interior recipe. The resulting experience provides a new twist on an old favorite, offering a medium-full body and a Cuban-esque profile of toasted cedar, zesty pepper, buttered toast, and bright medium-roast coffee.
Country of Orgin : Nicaragua
Strength : Medium-Full
Wrapper : Corojo
*Please note that all SKUs have two product lines. The top line is the box/bundle count. The second line is less than a box/bundle count and will be shipped as loose cigars in a humidified bag.
Keith Webber - Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu Blue No. 1 Toro Grande (Verified buyer)
This was the surprise cigar I had from PCA 2022 that just blew me away. I know Tatuaje and Pete Johnson’s agenda has always been to chase that Cuban profile with his brand and I never really thought he quite hit the mark until… well now. This has the beautiful barnyard cubanesque flavor we expect from Cubans in the 90s

Daniel Lemus - Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu Blue No. 2 Robusto Grande
Another home run by PHJ and team over at Tatuaje. Excellent construction that starts off a little floral before the spice level kicks in. Notes of vanilla and caramel throughout. On the milder side for Tatuaje but still packs a punch.
