Size: 6¼ x 52 • Body: Medium
Aganorsa Leaf, a dominant force in the cigar industry, stands out for its exceptional tobacco production, employing traditional Cuban techniques. Their reputation is further bolstered by the fact that their tobacco is utilized in some of the most sought-after cigar blends. The anticipation was palpable when they unveiled their own line of blends under the Aganorsa brand. Among them, the Aganorsa Leaf La Validacion Corojo truly shines. This cigar features a rich combination of Nicaraguan tobaccos for the binder and filler, encased in a luscious, oily Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper that exudes enticing notes of leather and wood. Some may even classify it as a puro, but regardless, it is an outstanding blend. With Aganorsa’s dedication to quality and consistency, there is no doubt about the exceptional experience this cigar offers.
1 – H. Upmann 1844 Special Edition Barbier Toro ($9.60 Retail)
Origin: Dominican Republic • Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut I Ecuadorian Sumatra
Binder: Java • Filler: : Nicaragua I Dominican Republic I Broadleaf
Size: : 6 x 54 • Body: Medium
Celebrating 180 years since Hermann Upmann first arrived in Cuba, H. Upmann introduces the H. Upmann 1844 Special Edition Barbier cigar. As the Upmann brothers (August and Hermann) were bankers from Bremen, Germany, the cigar’s Barbier name is German as well, meaning Barber. This ties into the cigar’s recipe, making use of an attractive barber pole wrapper, which uses both Ecuadorian Connecticut and Ecuadorian Sumatra leaves in an intertwined pattern. Surrounding a multinational interior recipe, the Barbier toro brings out complexities of cedar, citrus, light cabinet spice, and natural sweetness through the finish.
1 – EPC INCH Nicaragua No. 62 ($10.40 Retail)
Origin: Nicaragua • Wrapper: Nicaraguan Shade-Grown
Binder: Nicaragua • Filler: Nicaragua
Size: 5 x 62 • Body: Medium-Full
The INCH series was one of Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s first hits after starting his own EPC Cigar Company in 2009. The cigar’s clever name alludes to the large ring gauges of the series, as a 64 ring-gauge cigar measures one inch in diameter. The latest addition to the collection is the EPC INCH Nicaragua, marking the first INCH cigar not crafted by Carrillo himself, but rather the famed Plasencia family and their factory in Nicaragua. As you might expect, the cigars use a Nicaraguan puro blend, including a shade-grown wrapper from Nicaragua’s Jalapa region and binder/fillers from the country’s Condega and Estelf regions. This medium-full experience hits standout notes of earth, roasted nuts, toasted oak, and black pepper.
