Red Meat Lovers Beef Stick Cigar Review

Tonight, after a mouth-watering Tomahawk steak, I am enjoying the full-bodied Red Meat Lovers. A Bold and Savory Sensation by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust and Steve Saka.

As a seasoned cigar smoker of fine cigars, I was excited to try the Red Meat Lovers by Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust, a brand synonymous with high-quality, artisanal cigars. Crafted by master blender Steve Saka, this premium offering promised an unparalleled smoking experience, and I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype. In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that I am a fan of the brand, and my expectations were high.

Presentation:

Upon receiving the Red Meat Lovers, I was immediately impressed by its visually striking presentation. The cigar was housed in a white butcher’s paper with a distinctive red logo adding a touch of sophistication. The wrapper was a dark, oily Connecticut No. 1 Dark (Maduro) wrapper, which was secured over a Mexican San Andrés binder and fillers of Nicaragua and the U.S., which lent an air of luxury to the cigar, and the double bands were minimalist yet elegant.

Pre-light experience:

Preparing the cigar for smoking, I noticed the expertly crafted cap and a beautifully applied wrapper. The construction was firm and uniform, with no soft spots or blemishes to be found. The pre-light aroma offered a delightful mix of earth, cocoa, and leather, with just a hint of black pepper to pique my curiosity.

First third:

Upon lighting the Red Meat Lovers, I was greeted with a bold and flavorful profile. The initial puffs were an explosion of rich, savory flavors reminiscent of charred steak, accompanied by a subtle sweetness that balanced the intensity. The draw was near-perfect, and the burn line was razor-sharp, making for an effortless smoking experience. The smoke was thick and creamy, enveloping my palate in a velvety embrace.

Second third:

As I progressed into the second third of the cigar, the flavor profile evolved beautifully. The initial boldness mellowed slightly, allowing for a medley of complex notes to emerge. I detected hints of coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted nuts, which perfectly complemented the meaty backbone of the cigar. The retrohale was smooth and enjoyable, revealing a gentle hint of black pepper and a touch of cedar.

Final third:

The Red Meat Lovers cigar finished on a high note, with a crescendo of flavors that left me thoroughly satisfied. The intensity returned, culminating in a perfect balance between the rich, meaty notes and the subtler, sweeter undertones. The burn remained consistent throughout, and the draw continued to be flawless, making for a truly luxurious smoking experience.

The Red Meat Lovers by Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust is an exquisite cigar that offers a unique and memorable experience. Its bold, meaty profile is unlike anything I’ve encountered before, and the expert craftsmanship is evident in every aspect of the cigar. I highly recommend the Red Meat Lover to any aficionado seeking a complex and intense smoke, and I have no doubt that this remarkable cigar will secure a permanent place in my humidor.
