In 2003, La Flor Dominican introduced a cigar that is not only considered one of their most beloved releases, but one of the most respected cigars—period—in the modern era of premium cigars. The cigar at hand is the LFD Double Ligero, which is often considered partially responsible for launching the fuller-bodied smoking style that dominates humidors today.

As you may or may not know, ligero is classified as the highest priming on tobacco plants. This makes for a small yet potent leaf, producing more oils than other primings to protect itself from the added sunlight it receives. This makes for a stronger overall tobacco, both in flavor and nicotine, generally being placed in the center of a cigar's blend due to its slower combustion (giving the cone-like ember that you look for in a well-made cigar). All this is to say that the La Flor Dominican Double Ligero cigar features twice the amount of ligero found in traditional cigar recipes, bringing the punchy flavor and strength that has made it one of the most sought-after smokes on the planet!

The LFD Double Ligero cigar begins with estate-grown Dominican tobaccos throughout the binder and filler, being topped with an especially oily Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. Backed by the cigar's double use of ligero at its core, the LFD Double Ligero lights up with a thick and voluminous smoke output, delivering a hearty experience of leather, black pepper, toasted hardwoods, and sweet licorice and stone fruit through the finish.
