A cigar enshrouded in as much mystery and conspiracy as Area 51 itself: enter the Illusione Original Documents.
The Original Documents is, indeed, the first release from Illusione, debuting in 2006 as a humble house blend for company founder, Dion Giolito's, Fumare tobacconist location in Reno, NV. But this was no ordinary house blend, as Giolito had big plans for this cryptic project, which has now evolved into one of the most respected names in the realm of craft cigars.
Playing into Giolito's obsession with conspiracy, the Original Documents cigars feature hidden messages throughout. In place of standard bands, where you'd expect to find the name "Original Documents" featured prominently, you will instead find codes such as 88, f9, cg:4, mj12, etc. These are the names of each size, often tying into illuminati conspiracies and the like.
As for the blend, the cigars make use of the famed AGANORSA tobaccos of Nicaragua. This includes Criollo '98 and Corojo '99 leaves throughout the binder/filler, finalized in a AAA-Grade Corojo rosado wrapper. Standing as the backbone of the Illusione brand, the Original Documents cigar is balanced from start to finish, showing off fine-tuned complexities of freshly cut cedar, buttered toast, slightly zesty cabinet spices, and graham cracker sweetness.
